On Saturday 3rd October, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Palais des Rois de Majorque, will be hosting for the 4th consecutive year, the New Catalans Welcome.

This event is to welcome all new comers to the Pyrénées Orientales region and the Languedoc Roussillon department. Throughout the day you will be able to meet up with all kinds of local institutions. Will be present at the event; Associations, Public Socio-cultural & sporting infrastrucutures, Public Services etc. More than 1000 exhibitors will be there to inform you and help you to discover everything there is to know about our beautiful region.

The General Council of Pyrénées-Orientales will introduce you to the treasures and characteristics so dear to our region such as the culture, the gastronomy, the wine etc.


ALFMED will also be part of the show and will present the various language programs available that have a high focus on  cultural immersion.

We celebrated the welcome of the new inhabitans of the Département Longuedoc-Roussillon at the magnificent Palais des Rois de Majorque where ALFMED presented at its booth its entire language program in a total cultural immersion.

The event welcomed a lot of important people, for example politicians, economists, important people of the society, and of course the majority of the new inhabitants who could benefit from a local music band as well as the gastronomy that was offered after the speech of the president of the Conseil Général.
