FOS (French for Professionals)

The FOS (Français sur Objectifs Spécifiques, French for Professionals) addresses to everyone who wants to learn "General" French.
It is often addressed to professionals or academics who want to learn professional or academic French.
Possibilities of how a FOS training can take place:
♦ The request is often made by a professional or an academic institution. In this case the instructor is asked to prepare a FOS programme for the learner's professional field of activity.
Example:
A group of merchants of a German pharmaceutical company wants to do a professional training at the CCI (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie, Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in Paris. The company asks an education centre to prepare its group in order to understand the contents of this training and to work with the books, the material which will be used during this training.
♦ In the case of setting-up the training with different topics, the language centre establishes scheduled FOS sessions
Example:
Themes - Business French, Judicial French, Tourism French.

The teacher starts to organise and manage the class according to the learner's individual needs.
